Saints Thomas and Bartholomew

12th century
Holy Chamber, Cathedral of St. Savior, Oviedo, Spain

This double engaged column is one of six in the chamber that portray the twelve Apostles. These two are identified by the scrolls in their hands and in Bartholomew's case by the curly hair. The fanciful beasts are just Romanesque boilerplate.
